Erwin Hines is an artist, designer, and creative director. Throughout his career, he has focused on doing work that fosters empathy and inclusivity across all disciplines. He has led the creation of industry-defining work for companies such as GOOGLE, COACH, BEATS BY DRE, UNDER ARMOR, WEBBYS', AMAZON and more. Through these experiences Erwin has developed a keen understanding that the artifacts we create help shape people's perception of the world and their place within the world. This is why he is focused on using the toolset of design to put forward work that can help shape a more equitable environment, where those who have historically been oppressed have the freedom to just be themselves. In 2020 Erwin Co Founded [a] Open Gym Hospitality and in 2021 started [b] FUTURE IS COLOR®.

[a] OPEN GYM® is a Hospitality Group, whose focus is on building sustainable ecosystems of change within communities through the power of Space, Food, and Wellbeing. Since its inception in 2019, Open Gym has launched 2 culinary concepts with 4 location and 1 bookstore. Each concept is an exploration of how space and food can shape better communities. In 2020 Open Gym also started a 1for1 program that has donated over 600k meals to local families in need.

[b] FUTURE IS COLOR® is Erwin’s solo research studio focused on using design to create space for meaningful conversation of change. Through FUTURE IS COLOR®, Erwin has released a line of garments that serve as wearable conversations with a portion of the proceeds being donated back to organizations doing the groundwork for change. FUTURE IS COLOR® also works with brands and organizations like the ACLU to provide design and strategy services.
